Preview Night and stuff...

So, last night was Preview / Media night for Dreambound. It was our first full run through of the show with all tech elements. So, to say, our first run through of the show was in front of an audience...

Anyway, overall I thought the show went very well.

My only thing for this show was the fact I had to wait until the last minute to have all the elements to combine into show DVDs. Oh man... that had to be the most nerve-wracking thing I've done in Venture Theatre yet. Holy crap. I was worried and dismayed until about a hour before the show. Juggling of DVD players, which player did what, what buttons to push... are they all lining up with the show... will certain slides be active enough... blah blah blah... oh so many things. Then, we did a walk through of the show, and it seemed fine and I relaxed.

THEN, nerves hit me again in my first song. I shook like a leaf in September... The whole time I'm thinking... okay, get over it. It basically took the first song to get over... maybe a little bit more. But, by the time I had my long story at the beginning I was feeling pretty fine. I hadn't been like that on stage since senior year in high school when I played Emile De'Beck (spelling?) in South Pacific - On opening night, during my first scene.

Later in the show when DVD usage sped up, my worry level rose again, but not to making me shake. Specially with the power point presentation. I thought it would be funny... apparently, it was. The crowd ate that section up with a lot of laughter. That made the rest of the show so much easier.

Apparently, my mic basically lost 3/4ths of its volume in the middle of the performance and I was singing with very little enhancement while everyone else had mics. I really didn't notice... and Mike said I covered well... so no worries there.

Anyway, here is a link to the article about the performance.

Yeah, we had a bit of first show jitters that showed up in our singing... but I feel pretty confident about that not being the case for long.

Come out and see the show if you can.

I was nervous too. :P Visibly shaking during the start of the show... sweaty palms, butterflies, the whole bit. Once we got past the greenery scene that kept freezing, I was all good. And that the right DVD didn't go to sleep, that was nice.

I think you're amazing. Mwah!
