Seriously!?

How does one file of video, apparently appear in another separate file, that weren't made on the same day, with different programs, and in different folders?

this is the most bizarre thing I've experienced at work. To make it more odd, its always the same two files!

I have an opening video slate made to run before a featurette. I created this file in Live Type. Exported it to use in Final Cut as a *.mov. The other file, came a day or two later. It was imported using Final Cut Pro from a Beta SP tape.

Now, when I started using the slate before the new featurettes I was creating, I noticed that a few frames appeared in the slate... It was a family doing an interview from a few years ago. One of the old featurettes we re-imported from video to run again this year. Now, this short clip doesn't override the slate, nor is it easy to miss. I double checked the source file for my slate. It is clean and perfect. But, occasionally, when put into a FCP timeline there is a moment where the other file mixes in. Like my original slate is a screen over the top of it.

Odd. I erase those "infected" files, and replace them with the slate again, and its fine. I just find this odd...
