Just my luck

I wake up to a phone call this morning. A friend of mine in Saudi calls up... well, not my best friend in the world... he's actually more of just a guy I know...

and he tells me Jason will be in the Travis area pretty soon. Cool I think. I'll get to see him in a week or so...

nope. He shows up On Tuesday. Principle photography is delayed on Sometimes because a friend who travels across the world cannot be put off.

Now, I feel pressure and anxiety with this. I just had a small discussion with Kristen about this. I'm worried I'm going to be a let down and fail. I have never completed much of anything. I write and write... then stop. Never to finish. I outline, make a script... and never film it.

I'm worried I'll let everyone, but mainly myself down. again.

but, she says that I should make this be the thing that I do finish. So this can be a catalyst for good things to come in the future.

Sometimes its good to have someone else around to interrupt your sadness and doubt.

I'm just worried.
I'm just expecting too much.

question, what kind of camera do you shoot on? And what are you going to edit the film with?

And it's funny "never feeling accomplished" and how usually it's a symptom of being too hard on ones self...

Well, its a Sony TRV900 or something MiniDV. Using Final Cut Pro 3 to edit it with.

The tools aren't the problem. Acting is kinda the problem. Kristen and I weren't too hot on cue the first day of shooting. Second day was better though.

Yes, I am very very hard on myself and will admit it.

kick ass. one question is final cut pro just a computer program? Cause we use avid and that's like a whole system? Are you using your G4 to plug into the dv cam? don't you lose like film quality through small cables or are you using XLR cables?

And are you actually digitizing straight to your hard drive? cause if I was using my 12 gig harddrie I wouldn't be able to get more than twenty fucking minute of film to be edited not including final cuts...

Well... from my experience there isn't much loss if any from transfering from camcorder to computer. Its all digital, and firewire is digital transfer, so there is basically no loss of quality.

Yeah, it isn't all that easy to fit around 1 hour and 45 minutes of footage onto a computer, but the program saves it at a lower quality and smaller size until you want to print your final copy. Plus I've got an 80 and a 60 gig HD.

Final Cut is a computer program. I would love to work with avid, but the school doesn't have that system.

yes, G4 system.

I know the feeling
I figure if I have someone rellying on my to do something I will get it done. Otherwise I don't often finish anything I start. You'll get it done this time. I'm sure of it.
